What does my GPA have to look like?

The GPA requirement for Science NHS is a 3.0 Unweighted GPA and 3.0 Unweighted GPA for Science courses.

Is there any academic requirements?

You must be currently enrolled in an advanced science course. (Either AP or Honors).

Are there some dues that I have to pay?

There are annual dues. For new members it's $25 and for current members it's $15.

What must I do in order to stay in the club?

Volunteer at a minimum of 1 science related event per semester (elementary or middle school Science Nights, Orlando Science Center, Oakland Nature Preserve, Environmental clean ups, Competitions, etc.) If you compete in a science event that will not count as your community service per semester.

Volunteer a minimum of 8 hours per semester and 2 of the 8 hours should be science related. 

It is MANDATORY for students to attend the induction ceremony. It is also Mandatory to attend at least 5 meetings per year. Meetings are held once per month on the first Friday of the month after school in Mrs. Tomlin's room. Rm 577

***Maintaining a B in an AP science class or an B in an honors science class is required. If a student’s science class grade falls below minimum requirements, student will be placed on probation. He or she has one quarter to bring the grade back up to the required level. If the grade is not brought back up to meet minimum requirements within the quarter, the student will be dismissed from SciNHS.
